I left a 6-figure corporate job and moved to Europe in 2016. Married. Bought property. Was happy and expecting our first child.

That morning my wife shook me awake in Kyiv. Air raid sirens.
She was pregnant. We had a dog and one bag. It took 60 hours to cross into Poland.
I flew back to California to regroup and be near family for the birth.
In April, weeks after arriving, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. They gave her a 20% chance of living the year.
In October — she was “cancer free”, so they said.
June 8th of 2023 — I got the call. You need to come home. She passed June 20th.
She got 14 months.
I rebuilt the company through all of it. From $20K a month to 8 figures.
